BOSTON BUDDIES IS
MARCHING IN THE WORLD FAMOUS
2009 DOO DAH PARADE!
January 18, 2009
Boston Buddies wants YOU to march in the Doo Dah Parade too!
HURRY - DON'T DELAY
January 15 is the LAST DAY to sign up to march in the parade!
The parade will bring over 1,500 revelers into the streets in the annual spoof of its more traditional counterpart. The event, once named as the nation's "best parade ever," is expected to draw an estimated 45,000 onlookers from all over Southern California.
Boston Buddies volunteers and current foster dogs will be marching in the parade and we want YOU and YOUR BOSTON to join us and be part of the fun! This is our day to make Boston Buddies shine, spread the word about animal rescue and show off all our cute dogs!
Dogs and marchers may wear costumes. Be creative and be ready to have fun! We will have a few Radio Flyer wagon "floats" decorated for the parade and we'll be passing out dog biscuits and other goodies to spectators along the route.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for costumes or float ideas or if you just have questions about the event, feel free to contact Annette or Kathleen at firstname.lastname@example.org
Last year the parade was featured on all the evening news broadcasts and three early morning network news programs, CNN and some other international outlets!
The fee to march in the parade is $10 per person*
(no charge for dogs - just their human escorts)
* Please note that this fee is paid to the Doo Dah Parade organizers
Payment must be sent to Boston Buddies by January 15, 2009 in order to be included in the Boston Buddies parade entry.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure to provide the names of each of the marchers and the names of the dogs in the comment portion of the PayPal check out screen.
NOTE: All dogs need to be both people and dog friendly as there will be other dogs participating in the parade - shy and skittish dogs would not have fun at this event.
All dogs marching must be up to date on rabies. Proof of a current rabies vaccination must be sent to Boston Buddies by January 15, 2009.
Rabies certificates can be emailed in to email@example.com or faxed to 951-698-9690 or mailed to our mailing address:

BOSTON BUDDIES MARCHERS MEETING TIME:
The Boston Buddies marchers will be meeting at 10:30 am in Memorial Park (85 E. Holly St., Pasadena, CA 91103). Look for the Boston Buddies banner by the Senior Center in Memorial Park. Be sure to get there early so you don't get caught in traffic when the crowds arrive.
Once the Boston Buddies marchers have convened we will proceed to the official formation area in Memorial Park at the direction of the parade organizers. We need all Boston Buddies marchers to be there no later than 10:30 am!
The parade route begins at Holly and Raymond, proceeds South on Raymond, then West on Colorado. The entire route is less than one-half mile.
Free parking above Walnut Street, north of the staging area. Other parking is available on the streets and in a number of parking structures located on the north and south side of Raymond Avenue and the north and south side of Fair Oaks and Colorado Boulevard. Get there early for the best chance at close parking!
DIRECTIONS to MEMORIAL PARK:
FROM 210 Freeway: Exit at Fair Oaks/Marengo off ramp. Proceed south on Fair Oaks to Colorado (approx. 1/4 mile), which is the heart of the parade route and look for convenient parking.
FROM 134 EAST/WEST: Get off on Fair Oaks/Marengo exit. Same directions as above.
FROM 110 (PASADENA/HARBOR FREEWAY): Take the freeway to the end, which empties into Arroyo Parkway. Follow Arroyo north to Del Mar Avenue (approx. 1/2 mile) and turn left.
